Former FC Schalke 04 Esports jungler Erberk "Gilius" Demir and mid laner Hampus "Fox" Myhre have signed with the League of Legends North American Challenger Series team eUnited.
With the signing, the players will move to North America and live in eUnited's team house, which will presumably be in Los Angeles.
"The key to a successful team in this current meta is to have a strong mid/jungle duo," said eUnited's League of Legends strategic coach Ram "Brokenshard" Djemal. "Gilius and Fox both bring exceptional skill in their individual roles but also an innate synergy between them from being longtime teammates. ... I'm looking forward to seeing how they will mesh with our remaining NA core."
The news comes after eUnited purchased Team Liquid Academy's Challenger Series spot, which will allow them to compete in the 2017 Challenger Series spring split without having to qualify.
The team has hired management and coaching staff familiar with the scene. The team will be managed by Enemy co-owner Daniel "Clerkie" Clerke and former Dream Team manager Keaton Cryer and coached by former NRG Esports head coach Tadayoshi "Hermit" Littleton and former League of Legends pro jungler Brokenshard.
eUnited's purchase of the spot marks their first foray into League of Legends. Prior to League, the relatively new organization established rosters in Counter-Strike, Call of Duty, and Gears of War.
