Warriors win 'The Turn,' deny 76ers second championship

A day after the Golden State Warriors won their Western Conference semifinal series against the Houston Rockets, Warriors Gaming Squad topped everybody in the NBA 2K League's The Turn tournament Saturday, winning the championship and more than $90,000 at The Luxor in Las Vegas.

In a possible NBA Finals matchup of franchises, the Warriors topped 76ers GC 58-39 in the championship, Charles "CB13" Bostwick and Alexander "Bsmoove" Reese leading a balanced scoring attack with 17 points apiece. The duo also combined for 14 assists and only one turnover. Xavier "Type" Vescovi had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Warriors.

Alexander "Steez" Bernstein had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the 76ers, while Ethan "Radiant" White had 13 points and a game-high 11 assists.

The 76ers were looking for their second tournament title of the season, having already won The Tipoff, but the Warriors held them to their first single-digit quarter of the season with a 17-9 advantage in the first -- then did it again in the third -- as the outcome was never in question.

The victory was worth $90,720 for the Warriors while the 76ers pocketed $29,760.

The final brought to an end a busy day in which seven games were played, starting with the quarterfinals.

In the Round of 8, the 76ers beat Celtics Crossover Gaming 58-52 while the Warriors beat Mavs Gaming 64-60. Jazz Gaming beat T-Wolves Gaming 56-53 and Bucks Gaming beat Kings Guard Gaming 55-51.

In the semifinals, the 76ers topped the Bucks 62-54 in another potential NBA playoff matchup. The game was tighter than even the final score, as the game was tied 45-45 after three quarters and no lead was greater than six until the closing seconds.

Steez and Radiant were the dynamic in that one, as well, with Radiant scoring 20 points and handing out nine assists, and Steez scoring 19 with six rebounds and four assists. The Bucks had the game's top two scorers -- Tyler "Plondo" Lay had 26 points and Aaron "Arooks" Rookwood had 23. But the other three Bucks players combined for only five points.

In the other semi, the Warriors topped Jazz Gaming 63-49. The Warriors never scored fewer than 15 points in a quarter, while the Jazz never scored more than 14 in a frame. Bsmoove led all scorers with 22 points, Type added 20 points and five rebounds, and CB13 had 11 points and nine assists.

Shaka "Yeah I Compete" Browne led the Jazz with 19 points.
