Afreeca Freecs announced Wednesday they have re-signed top laner Kim "Kiin" Gi-in to a three-year contract.
"We will make a lot of efforts to win 2020 Worlds," the team tweeted Wednesday. "Keep cheering us!"
The 20-year-old South Korean began his professional career with Ever8 Winners in June 2017 and joined Afreeca Freecs six months later.
Kiin helped Afreeca Freecs to second-place finishes in the LCK spring split and Rift Rivals: LCK vs. LPL vs. LMS in 2018. The team most recently finished fourth in the LCK regional finals and missed the world championship.
Kiin is the fourth-longest tenured player on the 10-player all-South Korean roster, having joined a month after Kim "Aiming" Ha-ram and Son "Jelly" Ho-gyeong. Jungler Lee "Spirit" Da-yoon joined Afreeca Freecs a year earlier.
