FaZe Clan are expected to complete their first starting lineup in VALORANT with the signings of former Overwatch stars Andrej "Babybay" Francisty and Shane "Rawkus" Flaherty, sources tell ESPN. They will join fellow former Overwatch League players Corey "Corey" Nigra and Zachary "ZachaREEE" Lombardo along with former Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player Jimmy "Marved" Nguyen in FaZe's starting five.
Babybay last played for the Atlanta Reign in the Overwatch League, where he was a prominent starter and leader on the team before he announced his retirement last month to move to VALORANT.
Rawkus spent his entire Overwatch League career with the Houston Outlaws before announcing his retirement from the game Saturday, but his greatest success in the game came at the 2019 Overwatch World Cup, where he won the championship in dominant fashion as Team USA only dropped a single map throughout the entire event. On that Team USA squad, he played alongside Corey and Sentinels centerpiece Jay "sinatraa" Won, making Rawkus the third player from that title-winning roster to make the move to VALORANT.
FaZe first announced their entry into VALORANT on Jun. 26 with the signings of Jason "JasonR" Ruchelski and Corey. JasonR, the player thought to be captain of the team, didn't participate with FaZe Clan in their first tournament during the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown, an Ignition Series tournament. FaZe finished fourth in that tournament with a roster that included Corey, ZachaREEE and Marved. Though expected to be in the team's starting lineup, sources tell ESPN that JasonR wanted to build his own roster, leading the two sides to mutually split ways.
FaZe's new roster will make its debut Thursday at the FaZe Clan Invitational, an Ignition Series event in partnership with VALORANT game developer Riot Games.
