The Fantasy Baseball Forecaster pitching grid has been updated as of Thursday, July 6, at 10:35 p.m. ET.
Welcome to the new and improved version of the Fantasy Baseball Forecaster! This year, we reorganized the story into four parts; it's the same great intel, but you get right where you need to go as quickly as possible. Good luck this season!
Here's the scheduled starter for each game from July 3-9, including a projected game score for each pitcher in each matchup. A 50 is typically deemed a "quality start" by this measure, while a 70 is considered a dominant start:
Aaron Sanchez (DL: blister) made a minor league rehabilitation start on July 2 (Sunday of Week 13) for Triple-A Buffalo, and he'll likely rejoin the Toronto Blue Jays' rotation on July 7 (Friday of Week 14), bumping Joe Biagini to the bullpen.
Danny Salazar (DL: shoulder) will begin a rehabilitation stint for Double-A Akron on July 1 (Saturday of Week 13), and it is unclear how many minor league starts he'll make before rejoining the Cleveland Indians' rotation.
Danny Duffy (DL: oblique) rejoined the Kansas City Royals' rotation on July 4 (Tuesday of Week 14), and it's probable that he'll enjoy a two-start week, as the team will likely go with only four starters due to the July 6 off day.
Jerad Eickhoff (DL: back) will make one more minor league rehabilitation start on July 4 (Tuesday of Week 13) before likely rejoining the Philadelphia Phillies' rotation on July 9 (Sunday of Week 14).
The Los Angeles Dodgers will use the July 3 off day to push back Hyun-Jin Ryu (foot) in their rotation, and the left-hander might land on the DL. Brandon McCarthy (DL: knee) will throw a four-inning simulated game on July 3, so it's possible he could rejoin the Dodgers' rotation for their July 8 (Saturday of Week 14) opening.
