Team Owners can make changes to their roster lineup throughout the week. Players may be moved in or out of your team's Starting lineup based on the rules in place for your leagues. In Free Standard leagues each individual player becomes locked at their current position in the Starting lineup or Bench at the start of their team's first game of the day. Once locked, players may not be moved again until the next scoring period beginning on Tuesday at approximately 3 a.m. ET. At that time, team owners may begin making changes.
ACTIVATING / BENCHING PLAYERS
You decide which players to start for each week of competition. Your Team page allows you to analyze each of your current players, review their performance (previous day/week, year to date etc.) and freely move players between your Starting roster and Bench. Roster moves involving a player may be made right up until that player's team is scheduled to begin playing that week.
When you make transactions, you must move one Starting player to the Bench, or to Waivers, when moving an inactive "benched" player to your Starting lineup. If you make a move that violates a roster slot, an error message will appear, notifying you to double-check the proposed transaction. You will need to ensure that you are moving players into eligible slots.
ADDING / DROPPING PLAYERS
In Free Standard leagues there are going to be many unclaimed players available in the player pool; these players are called "Free Agents". You may want to pick up one of these Free Agents (players not currently on a team in your league) for your elite team. You can search the player pool by going to the Players page.
NOTE: If you wish to claim a player from free agency, you must have an open roster slot or drop one of your current players in exchange.
FREE AGENCY AND CLAIM STATUS
Any undrafted player is available to add to your team immediately if he is listed as "FA" (Free Agent). Players listed in "claim" status are locked. This happens during games or when the waiver claim period is in effect.
So when are unclaimed players locked? Each week, players may NOT be added or dropped on a team's roster, or traded, from the beginning of their week's game until the start of the next scoring period. Starting every Tuesday, the waiver period within your league will then begin and all players are available to be moved, claimed etc.
Waivers are the process by which team owners can select from the pool of available players who are not on a team's roster in the league. They may have been undrafted or dropped by owners. Owners can put a claim for that player, but must wait a specified amount of time until the waiver clears.
The team owner with the better waiver priority (closest to "1") that puts a claim on a player will receive the player when waivers clear. For example, if two or more owners put in claims for Jerry Porter, the claim with the best waiver priority is awarded Jerry Porter.
NOTE: Waiver Priority is in numeric order; i.e. a team owner with waiver priority "1" gets precedence over a team owner with a waiver priority of "10". All available players not on waivers are considered free agents.
To help prevent the issue of "cycling" players through free agency, a player that is added and released within 24 hours will remain a free agent. Intentional cycling of players through waivers is a serious offense and may result in a team being banned in Fantasy Football.
To learn more about the waivers process for your league, review your League Settings on the League Office page.
FREE STANDARD LEAGUE WAIVERS
All players not on a fantasy roster will be placed on Waivers, they will be individually locked at the start of their team's game that week. Their status will change from "FA" to "Claim".
Players dropped by an owner reside on waivers for at least 48 hours before clearing waivers. At the clearance time, the player is assigned to either a team (if a claim was made) or the free-agent pool (if no claim was made). Unclaimed players not acquired during the waiver period become free agents and may be picked up on a first-come, first-serve basis without affecting a team's waiver position.
If multiple claims are submitted for a particular player, the claims are resolved based on the waiver position of each team involved in the waiver claim. A team's waiver position is the relative power you have when selecting a player off of the waiver wire. When more than one team requests a player in on the waiver wire, the player is awarded to the team with the better waiver position (closest to "1"). When a claim is resolved, the waiver position for the team that receives the player is changed to the lowest possible priority (10), and all the other teams move up a position.
WAIVER SYSTEM (In-season)
Free Standard leagues use the following method for determining which team has priority in waiver claims.
- Resets every Tuesday To Inverse Order of Standings - The team in last place will be reset to first priority in the waiver order each week. The team in first place will receive the last waiver priority.
Waiver claims can be made at any time before the player clears waivers. Any player who is dropped within 48 hours of a game start is not available to be added to a team roster, and will appear on waivers 8 hours after being placed on waivers.
Waivers process every Thursday beginning at 3 a.m. ET.
