Seventh-seeded Thomas Johansson of Sweden extended his winning streak against Kafelnikov to eight matches on Saturday with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win in the semifinals of the $975,000 Gerry Weber Open grass tournament.

Johansson will battle Fabrice Santoro in Sunday's final after the Frenchman conquered Rafter, 7-5, 6-4.

In their only previous meeting on grass, Kafelnikov took three sets to knock off Johansson in the semifinals here in 1998, when the Russian marched to his second straight title.
