Johansson heads to Wimbledon with Nottingham Open title

NOTTINGHAM, England (Ticker) -- Third seed Thomas Johansson of Sweden is ready for Wimbledon, capturing his second successive title on grass at the $375,000 Nottingham Open.

Johansson beat No. 7 Harel Levy of Israel, 7-5, 6-3, in Saturday's final to earn the first prize of $54,000.

The Swede beat Fabrice Santoro of France, 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, last Sunday to win the $975,000 Gerry Weber Open grass event. He now has six career ATP titles.

Johansson became the first player to win consecutive titles on grass since 1999. He heads to Wimbledon, where he is seeded 11th, with a 10-match winning streak.

The 22-year-old Levy, Israel's top player, played in his second ATP Tour final. He lost to Marat Safin in the championship match at last year's Toronto event.
