Great Outdoor Games float wins July 4th contest
GO Games staff July 5, 2002
 | | | Nancy Spooner/ESPN | It's not a Gold Medal event, but the Great Outdoor Games won best float in Lake Placid's Fourth of July Parade Thursday. The float was themed after the Great Outdoor Games in the Adirondacks. It incorporated campfires, tents, fishing equipment, canoes and logs. The float represented every sport in the upcoming GO Games, while maintaining the serenity of the Adirondacks. The float was one of more than 40 floats in the annual 4th of July parade in Lake Placid. The Great Outdoor Games begins Wednesday, July 10th and will run through Sunday, July 14th. It is in its third year in Lake Placid. Send this story to a friend | Most sent stories |
