2001 GOG Finish: Silver Medal Hometown: Hayward, Wisconsin Age: 23 Height: 5'9 Weight: 175 Marital Status: Single Occupation: Student, lumberjack show performer Background: Linville grew up in Hayward, Wisc., where lumberjack sports are an integral part of the community. He started out performing in lumberjack shows, then began competing in climbing and logrolling. He likes speed climbing because it's not something people see everyday and because it's based on the actual work carried out in the woods. Linville was diagnosed with Hodgkins disease in 1996. He went through six months of chemotherapy and three months of radiation treatment, and he is presently cancer-free.
