PALM HARBOR, Fla. -- Vijay Singh has withdrawn from the Transitions Championship because of a back injury.
Singh has been dealing with nagging injuries the past year, although he showed signs of improving his game with a tie for fourth at the Honda Classic and a tie for 11th in the World Golf Championship at Doral.
Singh reached No. 1 in the world five years ago, but has slipped to No. 32. Singh was replaced in the field by Jeff Maggert.
