Woods, Hero unveil long-term deal

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Tiger Woods has a new sponsor for his annual golf tournament and a new personal endorsement deal as well.

But don't expect the 14-time major champion to start riding one of the products his new sponsor sells: a motorcycle.

Hero MotoCorp bills itself as the largest manufacturer of two-wheelers. The India-based company plans a 2016 expansion into the U.S. market and has signed on as title sponsor of the Hero World Challenge for four years while also hiring Woods as a global corporate partner. The deal is for four years.

Woods posed for photographs with company chief executive officer Pawan Munjal while sitting on a Hero motorcycle.

But Woods admitted he has never ridden one.

"And even with Hero's valuable sponsorship this year and for the next three years, there's no way I'm about to start,'' Woods said, smiling.

Woods makes his return to competitive golf this week at the Hero World Challenge after a four-month absence due to injuries. The annual tournament benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation.
