Rory McIlroy to miss Grand Slam

PGA Championship winner Rory McIlroy will miss the PGA Grand Slam of Golf in Bermuda in October because of a scheduling conflict, organizers said Tuesday.

McIlroy, who won the PGA Championship earlier this month, already had committed to the European Tour's BMW Masters in China on Oct. 25-28, the PGA of America said in a statement.

The PGA Grand Slam of Golf, a 36-hole stroke-play event that features the winners of the year's four majors, will be held Oct. 23-24.

American Keegan Bradley will replace McIlroy, the world's top-ranked player.

Fellow Americans Bubba Watson, who won this year's Masters, and Webb Simpson (U.S. Open), plus South African Ernie Els (The Open Championship) will complete the four-man field.
