USGA's plan for next three days at the U.S. Open

Information below is from Jeff Hall, managing director of rules and competitions for the USGA. All times are approximate and Eastern Time.

Play will start at approximately 7:30 a.m. That's finishing off the morning wave of Round 1.

At 8 a.m., the afternoon wave of Round 1 will begin. (It was supposed to start Thursday afternoon.)

Round 2's morning wave is expected to begin at 1:45 to 2 p.m. (It was supposed to tee off at 6:45 a.m. Friday.)

Round 2's afternoon wave is expected to begin at 7:15 p.m. They will not finish, as sunset is about 8:52 p.m.

They plan to restart at 7:30 a.m. and expect to finish Round 2 about 1:15 p.m. and then make the cut.

They will start Round 3 in groups of threesomes off of split tees.

The goal is to finish Round 3 on Saturday night. If not, they will resume at a time to be determined on Sunday morning.

The goal is to play in twosomes and to crown a champion on Sunday night.
