CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- Tom Lehman, tied for fourth at the halfway point of The International, withdrew Saturday because of a right knee injury.

He was to have an MRI to look for torn cartilage.

Lehman, seventh on the PGA Tour money list, limped after walking on to the fairway from the No. 10 tee box on Friday. Moments earlier, he hit an awkward shot from behind the ninth green that led to a bogey.

Lehman didn't finish his second round Friday, when play was halted because of lightning. He played the final two holes of his second round Saturday morning, then withdrew.

"I was OK for the first 20 or 22 holes, then I felt it and struggled the rest of the way," Lehman said. "My knee started to swell, and after my round this morning I had it drained. It swelled back up, however, and I just do not feel I need to take any chances on these hills.

"Obviously, I'm disappointed because I was playing really well for those first 20 or so holes."

Lehman, the first-round co-leader with 15 points, had 23 points after two rounds under the modified Stableford scoring system used in this event. Leader Ernie Els had 34 points through two rounds.
