SURREY, British Columbia -- Jesper Parnevik, recovering from a hip injury, shot a 6-under-par 65 on Friday to take a one-stroke lead in the Air Canada Championship.

	Sergio Garcia had four birdies and no bogeys to stay in the hunt, four off the pace.

"It seems like I've been able to feel the shots the way they're going to come out before I hit them, which is key a lot of times, especially when I don't feel well," said Parnevik, who is seeking his third victory of the year.

"It's just a feel you're looking for. A trust that when commit to a shot that it will come off."

He had an 11-under 131 total on the Northview Golf Club course.

"My goal, of course, is to get to at least to 20-under and see what happens," Parnevik said. "If I keep on doing what I'm doing, I should reach there."

Grant Waite was one shot back after a 67, and Steve Lowery (63), Tommy Armour III (65) and J.L. Lewis (66) were two behind at 133.

Sergio Garcia shot a 67 for a 135 total.

"I've been playing a lot like I did last year, but better," said Garcia, coming off a victory over Tiger Woods on Monday in a made-for-TV match. "If I'm able to be as happy as last year, I'm going to shoot better scores and that's what's happening now.

"All the pressure I've been putting on myself in the majors ... doing well in the majors, I became a little anxious. I was thinking that golf is the only thing in my life and that's not right."

Defending champion Mike Weir had a 69 for a 136 total on his native soil.

"I'm not out of it by any means," Weir said. "I need to have a good solid round and a few more putts, but I'm playing well."

Andy Miller, the son of former tour star Johnny Miller, made the cut in his pro debut, shooting a 67 for a 139 total.

"My dad told me the hole here is the same size as it is in any other tournament," he said.

"I think he feels he has a great future, which I know he does," Johnny Miller said. "He's just got to keep getting a little better all the time."
