Inman birdied five of the final nine holes in a bogey-free round on the Wilshire Country Club course. He finished at 15-under 198, and earned $210,000.

Inman's only birdie on the front nine came on the 187-yard, par-3 fourth hole, which yielded just 31 birdies in the tournament. Inman made a 5-footer for birdie.

"I made a great birdie on the fourth hole, it's a bogey hole," Inman said.

He chipped in from 25 feet at the 11th hole, rolled in a 15-foot birdie putt at the 13th, and added a 5-foot birdie putt at the 15th.

"I'm 3-under after the first four holes on the back nine and I lost a shot," Inman said. "The birdie at 15 gave me some breathing room. On the final hole, I just tried to hit it short and left of the flag and I hit it within 5 feet. I've never played better or hit the ball better."

Inman, 52, is the fifth player in Senior Tour history to win the same event three straight years. Inman's only senior victories have come in the event. He won the 1976 Kemper Open for his lone PGA Tour title.

Nelson, a six-time winner this season, also closed with a 65 en route to his seventh second-place finish of the year. He earned $123,200 to increase his tour-leading total to $2,660,005.

Nelson birdied four of the first five holes on the back nine and closed within a shot of Inman with a 12-foot birdie putt at the 14th hole.

"I thought I had a chance when I got within one at 14, but then we got into Joe's wheelhouse," Nelson said. "I caught everyone but Joe. He was so comfortable and he really putted well."

Stewart Ginn shot a 68 to finish third at 198. He earned $100,888 to move into 29th place on the money list -- good enough for a place in next week's Senior Tour Championship.

Ginn's move bumped Graham Marsh out of the top 31. Marsh finished just $941 behind David Lundstrom for the final spot.

Jim Thorpe (69) was fourth at 205, and Tom Kite (68) and Christy O'Connor (66) tied for fifth at 206.
