INSIDE THE CLASS RANKINGS
There was no catching the teams at the top, but Ieshia Small made a big impact on the 2013 recruiting class rankings.
Small -- a 6-foot senior wing from Florida, the No. 19 prospect in the espnW HoopGurlz Top 100 of and a McDonald's All-American -- announced earlier this month that she will be heading to Baylor. As a result, the Lady Bears moved up from No. 20 to No. 9 in most recent rankings.
Arkansas, which is expected to sign in-state star Jessica Jackson on Friday, takes over the No. 20 spot.
The regular signing period opens Wednesday.
North Carolina, with No. 3 Diamond DeShields and three other prospects in the top 25, and Duke, with No. 6 Rebecca Greenwell and three other prospects in the top 32, are the big winners.
Tennessee also hit the recruiting jackpot. In her first signing class since taking over for Pat Summitt, Holly Warlick landed the No. 1 prospect in the class, Mercedes Russell, and two others in the top 50. The Lady Vols' class is ranked third overall.
Missing from the rankings are Connecticut, which won the national title earlier this month, and Louisville, the runner-up. UConn's 2013 class includes a single star, Saniya Chong, a four-star guard ranked 75th. Louisville, meanwhile, has a three-player class that includes Emmonnie Henderson, the No. 40 prospect in the 2013 rankings, and top junior-college prospects Janelle Cannon and Starr Breedlove.
