B-100 FINALS: Marvin Bracy from Boone (Orlando, Fla.) rules with a 10.06w (+2.4), just .01 off his all-conditions best from 2011, and easily topping the 10.36 by Aldrich Bailey (Timberview).
G-100 FINALS: Jennifer Madu of Plano East (Texas) completes a TJ/100 double with a decisive 11.49w (+3.7) victory.
G-4x400 FINALS: Lancaster earns its second relay title of the meet, adding a US#1 3:44.67 to their 4x100 win (and 4x200 second-place finish). DeSoto is second in US#3 3:46.54.
B-4x400 FINALS: Celina races into the spotlight with a US#1 3:14.08, topping previous national leader DeSoto (3:14.55) and Aldrich Baliey-led Mansfield Timberview (3:15.11).
B-4x200/4x100 FINALS: DeSoto (Texas) doubles up in D-II by first rocketing to a US#1 1:24.04, making them prep history's #6 quartet, then rolling to a 40.92 (off their US#2 40.59 best).
G-4x200/4x100 FINALS: First Garland (Texas) races to a US#1 1:36.55 in D-II to top Lancaster 1:36.87. Then Lancaster turns the table in the shorter race, 46.39 to 46.63.
B/G 1600: Victories to Brady Turnbull (Frisco Liberty) in US#5 4:12.33 and Rachel Jones of Hebron 5:00.36.
B-110H/G-100H: Short wind-aided hurdle victories to Taije Jordan of Lancaster in 13.61w (+2.9) and Bryce Grace of Dallas Adams in 13.73w (+2.1). Tequille Jackson (13.74) almost gave Lancaster a sweep.
G-SP: Shelbi Vaughan of Legacy (Mansfield,Texas) completed her throws double, following up Friday's DT USR with a 48-11 SP victory. She was already US#2 at 49-6.5.
G-TJ: Jennifer Madu of Plano East (Texas) skips to a US#1 42-1 (+1.3w), just edging Brianna Richardson's (Rockwall-Heath) US#2 42-0 (+1.6w).
B-TJ: Felix Obi of Franklin (El Paso, Texas) bounds to a US#1 50-1 (+1.7w), winning by more than two feet.
B-SP: Jordan Roos from Celina wins a battle of Texas 60-footers with a US#4 64-2. He tops prev. US#4 Alex Garza (Rio Grande City, 62-9.25) and US#2 Hayden Reed (Little Cypress-Mauriceville, 62-0.5).
G-3200: Madi McLellan of The Woodlands (Texas) earned a second victory with a 10:31.65 (just off her US#3 time), adding to her anchor on Friday's winning DMR. She won by 13 seconds, but six would still run under 10:50.
B-3200: Joe Sansone and Ben Golestan gave Southlake Carroll a 1-2 with US#2 9:09.24 and 9:15.27.
B-4x800: Katy Cinco Ranch (Texas) runs to a US#2 7:51.69, with other Texas schools DeSoto, Georgetown, and Liberty Hill all close behind under 7:53 (and US#3-4-5).
G-4x800: Humble Kingwood (Texas) wins with US#4 9:21.56, moving up a spot from Friday's 2nd in the DMR. Their boys SMR team also won Friday.
B/G-4x100 PRELIMS: Fastest prelim times turned in by current US#2 DeSoto 41.13 boys at 41.13 and Garland girls at 47.34.
FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS
G-DT: Shelbi Vaughan of Legacy (Mansfield, Texas) smashed the USR in the discus with a tremendous 191-6 toss on her second of six attempts. She fouled her fifth and sixth tries. She broke Anna Jelmini's 2009 record of 190-3 by 15 inches.
G-LJ: Sydney Conley from Fayetteville (Ark.) leapt US#1 20-3 (1.2w) to pull out a close victory over Jennfer Madu of Plano East (Texas), who was next at 20-0.75w (+2.2). Both hit their best mark on their second attempt.
B-PV: Shawn Barber of Kingwood (Texas) took three more attempts at an 18-foot bar but settled for the win at 17-6.5, just off his US#1 17-8. Dylan Bell of Alvarado was second at US#2 17-2.75.
G-PV: Jessie Johnson of Argyle (Texas) cleared 13-1.5 to win the competition and then raised the bar to 13-5.25 to go after Morgann Leleux's meet record, but she missed three times at that height. "When I started vaulting today I didn't feel good (tired). I woke up on my last attempt at 12-9," Johnson said. Lakan Taylor of FW Boswell and Hannah McWilliams of Gregory-Portland both made 12-9.25 before going out at 13-1.5.
G-MEDLEY RELAYS: The Woodlands won the 1,600 SMR (3:59.24) and the DMR (12:00.64) in early US#1 times.
B-MEDLEY RELAYS: Southlake Carroll cruised to victory in the DMR in US#1 10:10.19. ... Kingwood won the boys 1,600 SMR in US#1 3:23.44.
G-4x200: Garland ran US#2 1:37.62 in the prelims, barely faster than Lancaster (1:37.66).
B-4x200: DeSoto, already the national leader in this event, ran 1:25.48 for the top time in prelims.
B-4x400: Lancaster ran US#7 3:15.93 to lead all the teams in the prelims.
G-4x400: Duncanville turned in US#7 3:49.18 to top the prelims, nosing out Lancaster (3:49.29).
B-DT: Hayden Reed of Little Cypress-Mauriceville won by 10 feet with 186-2.
B-HJ: Allex Austin of San Marcos made 7-0.25, just off his US#1 7-1, to outlast Victor Glaze of Killeen, who cleared 6-11.
G-HJ: Darby Graff of Hallsville made 5-8 to win the the title.
B-LJ: Tyris Jefferson of Tyler Lee went 24-3.50w (+2.1) to win the competition.
B-100: In the prelims, Marvin Bracy of Boone (Orlando, Fla.) ran 10.37 with a 2.1 meter-per-second wind reading, slightly over the allowable (2.0) for records purposes. Tremanye Acy of DeSoto and Aldrich Bailey of Timberview both ran 10.38. Acy had a 4.2 wind, Bailey was aided by 2.7 wind.
G-100: Fast prelim times were turned in by Jennifer Madu of Plano East (11.51w), Little Elm junior Marika Brown (11.58w) and Fayetteville (Ark.) senior Sydney Conley (11.68w). Madu and Brown had 3.3 meter wind readings, Conley 2.8.
G-100 Hurdles: Taije Jordan of Lancaster ran 13.90 (1.3) to lead all qualifiers in the prelims.
B-110 Hurdles: Bryce Grace of Adams turned in a fast prelim time of 13.84 seconds (1.5), US#3 wind-legal.
