New Jersey All-Area Football

Here's a preseason look at the players to watch in New Jersey:

PRIME-TIME PLAYERS

JOSHUA EVANS

One of the most athletic players in the state,
Evans showed his versatility last year when he
tossed 14 touchdowns, ran for 13 and intercepted
seven passes while playing free safety.

THEO RIDDICK

The Notre Dame-bound Riddick set a school
record by scoring 23 touchdowns in 2006, and last
year he ran for 1,192 yards and punched in 13 TDs
in just 10 games.

ANTHONY LALOTA

Last season was LaLota's first on the gridiron, but
the newcomer caught on quickly. After racking
up 10 sacks, the ex-hoops star has become a top
recruit at defensive end.

NYSHIER OLIVER

The Tennessee commit is the best corner in the
state, but he's also a dynamic offensive player. As a
running back, he rushed for more than 1,500 yards
last year and scored 24 touchdowns.

COACH'S TAKE

AN AREA COACH ON NYSHIER OLIVER:

"What a great player. You can put him up against
any player in the state, and I'm talking offensively
or defensively. He's one of those guys that you
never want to see the ball in his hands, because you
know, chances are, he's going to hurt you."
