Napravnik suspended 4 days

Jockey Rosie Napravnik will serve a four-day suspension after she rides Vicar's in Trouble in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

Churchill Downs stewards punished Napravnik for her role in the disqualification of Bayern from first to second in the Derby Trial this past Saturday.

Napravnik and Bayern made contact with Embellishing Bob in the final furlong, and jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. lodged an objection against Napravnik after Bayern prevailed by a nose. Stewards agreed with Hernandez and changed the order of finish, elevating Embellishing Bob to first and dropping Bayern to second for drifting out under left-handed urging.

The jockey doesn't plan to appeal the penalty, which she will serve May 8-11.

Napravnik would have received a three-day suspension, but an extra day was added because she's being allowed to ride Louisiana Derby winner Vicar's In Trouble in the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

She also has the mount on 4-5 morning-line favorite Untapable in the Longines Kentucky Oaks on Friday.
