Weekend plays from Keeneland

Hilliard Lyons Doubledogdare Stakes
Keeneland: Race 9
Friday, April 22, 2016

Millionaire I'm a Chatterbox was one of the better 3-year-old fillies of last year, and seems fit for her first start at 4, working five furlongs on a regular basis since early March; has been finishing well in some swift works over this track in recent weeks. Ahh Chocolate was beaten as the favorite in an overnight stake at Fair Grounds Mar. 18 that was n obvious prep; won the Grade 2 Fall City last year; a winner over the Keeneland main track, just like 'Chatterbox. Back in Dixie is riding a five-race win streak, though the victories came against claimers and allowance types, not stakes horses.

Dixiana Elkhorn Stakes
Keeneland: Race 9

Da Big Hoss is a rebound candidate after a dull fifth at Gulfstream recently; his two starts in Florida this winter were not up to standard to him - perhaps he didn't care for the hard turf course there; sandwiched between those starts was a blowout win in the John Connally in which he beat Kaigun. The latter, in contrast, excelled at Gulfstream this winter; a miler earlier in his career, he has developed into a quality turf marathoner since the fall. Twilight Eclipse was one of the best turf stayers in North America in 2014-2015; outrun in his last two starts, but one came in the Breeders' Cup Turf and the other when kicking off his year this winter in Florida.
