Stormy Pick wins $150,000 Sorority

OCEANPORT, N.J. -- Stormy Pick beat Zonk by 1¾ lengths Saturday in the $150,000 Sorority Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Monmouth Park.

Ridden by Jose Ferrer, Stormy Pick ran six furlongs on the sloppy track in 1:10.4. The Ben Perkins Jr.-trained winner returned $10.20, $6.20 and $2.10. Zonk returned $13.60 and $2.10, and With Ability paid $2.10 to show.

"We've been pointing to this race all year with her," Perkins said. "Our filly was ready for this one."

In the other stakes on the card, Lawrence Foggle's Curious Treasures ($10) led from start to finish for a five-length victory in the $45,000 Candy Eclair Stakes. Chuck Lopez rode the 3-year-old filly over the five furlongs in 57.2 seconds.
