Trainer Scott Lake is suspended by stewards

NEW YORK -- A positive post-race test on Baltimore Gray, first in the eighth race May 25 at Belmont Park, has led to the suspension of trainer Scott Lake.

Lake, who ranked fifth on the list of money-winning trainers with $4,725,919 through July 15, was suspended 30 days, which was reduced to 15 days because he waived his righ to appeal, stewards disclosed on Wednesday.

The trainer also was fined $2,000. The suspension was to begin Thursday and run through Aug. 2.

A post-race urine test revealed the vasodilator Clenbuteral in Baltimore Gray's system. The horse was order unplaced in the revised order finish of the race.
