Talladega Superspeedway has the reputation of being NASCAR's Biggest and Baddest track, thanks to heart-pounding, three- and four-wide racing, but when it comes to delicious food, the track offers the "Biggest and Best" with "The Big One" Meatball and Talla-Mento Dogwich. Both items will be offered at various concession stands during the track's triple-header race weekend, May 5-7, featuring the GEICO 500, Sparks Energy 300, and General Tire 200.
The Talla-Mento Dogwich, which debuted in the spring of 2016, puts a spin on two classic dishes - combining a hot dog with a grilled cheese sandwich. The Talla-Mento Dogwich quickly rose to prominence among Talladega fans with its grilled, all-beef hot dog that is split in two, placed atop buffalo cheddar cheese sauce, and topped with a generous helping of pimento cheese. Before it's served up, it's placed between two slices of golden brown Texas Toast and cut down the middle. The Talla-Mento Dogwich ($5) will be available in the O.V. Hill North and South Grandstands, as well as the Tri-Oval Tower and all infield locations.
The now world famous "The Big One" Meatball weighs in at more than a whole pound. The most unique meatball on the market, it contains a pair of cheeses in the middle - mozzarella and pepper jack - and is mixed with smoked BBQ pork. Once the chefs cover the meatball with a layer of ground beef, it's rolled in a panko bread crumb and deep fried. And to make it even better, it's garnished with spaghetti and spiced up with a dollop of siracha sauce, making fans mouths water even more. Purchase the "The Big One" Meatball ($13) at concession stands in the Gadsden and O.V. Hill South Grandstands, as well as the Tri-Oval Tower on the frontstretch.
"Not only are we NASCAR's Biggest and Baddest track when it comes to racing, but to complement the on-track action, we have the most unique, mouth-watering concession items," Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch stated. "'The Big One" Meatball and Talla-Mento Dogwich are incredibly large and creative. At Talladega, 'Size Matters' and these gigantic concessions items, which are the most creative and delicious choices at any sporting event, are a huge hit with race fans. In addition, we have a host of adult beverages that are second to none."
Adult race fans needing a tasty drink to wash down these one-of-a-kind menu options can purchase the new Alabama Mule Cocktail. The cocktail is available for only $8 and contains the incredible combination of Clyde Mays Whiskey, ginger beer, simple syrup, and lime. It's available at all bars throughout the frontstretch concourse. There are several other places for fans to easily find the beverage of their choice through race weekend.
• The Bama Bier Garden, located in the Fan Zone near turn four, has a fully stocked bar for the entire weekend. Drink options include the traditional Miller and Budweiser beers as well as an incredible selection of savory Back Forty Beer that is brewed right down the road in nearby Gadsden, Alabama.
• The Bootlegger Draft and Cocktail Bar is also in the Fan Zone and is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday.
• Fans with Tri-Oval tickets should make plans to stop by the Clyde 240 Tower Tavern in the Tri-Oval Tower, which opens at 8 a.m. and doesn't close until the end of each race day.
• Infield options include the Miller Lite Pavilion and Inside Track Bar.
