Virginia-based Federated Auto Parts (Federated) announced a renewal of its entitlement sponsorship of the 2018 fall Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway (Richmond). Next fall's Federated Auto Parts 400 will also join a select group as the race moves two weeks later to the Monster Energy Series Playoffs on September 22, 2018. This will be the eighth consecutive year of Federated Auto Parts' entitlement at Richmond.
"We are proud to continue our long-time partnership with Virginia-based Federated Auto Parts for next fall's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoff race on September 22, 2018," said Richmond President Dennis Bickmeier. "The move of next year's Federated Auto Parts 400 to the NASCAR Playoffs will make the race bigger than ever as NASCAR's best battle for a shot at the Monster Energy Series championship. Federated Auto Parts is passionate about motorsports at Richmond, so we look forward to showcasing another historic evening of NASCAR action together in 2018."
"The Federated Auto Parts 400 has become a cornerstone event of Federated marketing efforts and a must-attend event for our members, customers and vendor partners. Now that the Federated 400 is part of the NASCAR playoffs, the race has become even more exciting and significant," said J.R. Bishop, motorsports and event marketing director, Federated Auto Parts. "We are proud to continue our race sponsorship and our relationship with Dennis Bickmeier and the staff at Richmond Raceway. We are excited about 2018 and looking forward to another great Federated 400 weekend."
The road to the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship will now lead through next fall's Federated Auto Parts 400 as the track joins the select number of tracks (ten) who host a Monster Energy Series Playoff race. The Commonwealth of Virginia is the only state with a pair of Monster Energy Series Playoff races at Richmond and Martinsville Speedway. The NASCAR XFINITY Series Playoffs will also begin at America's Premier Short Track.
