SAN FRANCISCO -- The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed veteran reliever Jack Taschner to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Albuquerque, barely a week after Taschner declined an outright assignment to the minors by the Pittsburgh Pirates and opted to become a free agent instead.
Taschner, 32, has a 5.10 ERA in 219 career relief appearances in the majors with the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and Pirates.
