LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Aaron Miles left Tuesday night's 6-0 loss to the New York Mets with a bruised right elbow after he was hit by a pitch from right-hander Mike Pelfrey in the bottom of the fifth. Miles played defensively in the sixth, then was removed and taken for precautionary X-rays.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said results of those X-rays weren't expected until Wednesday.
Miles was in the starting lineup at second base and batted third in the lineup for just the second time in his career and the first time since his rookie season of 2003 because right fielder Andre Ethier, who normally hits there, was unavailable because of an illness. Miles had grounded out in his two previous at-bats against Pelfrey.
