Phil Jackson sits out with flu

ONTARIO, Calif. -- Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson, 65, will miss the team's preseason finale Friday against the Golden State Warriors.

Jackson did not travel with the team to San Diego for the Lakers' 120-99 win over the Warriors on Thursday because of flu-like symptoms and stayed away from the team Friday as his condition lingered.

Assistant coach Brian Shaw, who is assigned the responsibility of scouting Golden State all season long, will assume head coaching responsibilities for the second straight game.

Kobe Bryant, who sat out on Thursday to rest his surgically-repaired right knee, is expected to play and was the first Lakers player on the court at Citizens Business Bank Arena before the game working out with assistant coach Chuck Person.

Los Angeles big men Lamar Odom (left thumb) and Theo Ratliff (knee tendinitis) are also scratched from the lineup. Shannon Brown will start in Odom's place.
