Lakers assign Devin Ebanks to NBDL

The Los Angeles Lakers assigned little-used rookie Devin Ebanks to the NBA Development League's Bakersfield Jam on Monday.

Ebanks, who was taken with the 43rd overall pick, was averaging 2.9 points and 1.5 rebounds in 6.4 minutes per game this season.

The return of Andrew Bynum from injury and the acquisition of Joe Smith in the Sasha Vujacic trade provided much more depth to the Lakers frontcourt and blocked opportunities for Ebanks.

The 6-foot-9 Ebanks put up 12 points and 8.1 rebounds per game in his final season at West Virginia.
