Dwight Howard has PRP therapy

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard flew out of Los Angeles at noon PT Saturday after undergoing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy on his ailing right shoulder in the morning.

He will be re-evaluated by Lakers trainer Gary Vitti at the team's hotel in Detroit on Saturday night and be a game-time decision when the Lakers play the Pistons on Sunday.

"I'm not counting (on Howard playing), but I hope," Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We're ready to go if not, but if (he can play) that would help, obviously."

The Lakers were 0-3 without Howard this season before beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 111-100 on Friday without the big man in the lineup.

"It's just a matter if there's pain, he won't play," D'Antoni said. "If the pain has lessened a lot, then I think he'll play."
