UCLA punishes Anderson

UCLA sophomore point guard Jerime Anderson has been benched for the start of the Bruins game against California on Wednesday night, Bruins head coach Ben Howland said Tuesday.

Howland said that Anderson was being disciplined because he was late for a rehabilitation session on Sunday. Freshman wing Tyler Honeycutt will take Anderson's spot in the starting lineup. Sophomore Malcolm Lee will start at point guard.

It will be Honeycutt's first career start.

"I'm ready,'' he said.

Anderson has started 13 of the Bruins' 14 games this season, averaging 6.1 points and 4.4 assists.
