Nación ESPN launches Feb. 14

ESPN Deportes announced Thursday that it will launch its new variety show, Nación ESPN on Monday, Feb. 14.

Co-hosted by ESPN Deportes newscasters Adriana Monsalve and David Faitelson, the show, fueled by fan interaction, will be the Deportes network's first to be produced from ESPN's studios in Los Angeles. Modeled after ESPN's popular show SportsNation, the hour-long show will air weeknights at 7 p.m. PT.

Faitelson joined ESPN Deportes in 2007, after spending more than two decades as a sports reporter in Mexico. He is an analyst and host for ESPN Deportes shows including Cronometro, Futbol Picante and ESPN Deportes Radio's morning show, Raza Deportiva, and is perhaps best known for his reports in the recurring segment, "El Color de Faitelson."

Venezuelan-born Monsalve, a former pop singer and morning show anchor in Caracas, has been an anchor on ESPN Deportes' SportsCenter for several years.

Nación ESPN's format will be made up of light-hearted segments including interviews with athletes, coaches and pop culture figures, competitions between the show's hosts and guests, and debates about current events.

"We are excited to add Nación ESPN to our strong lineup of news and information programming," ESPN Deportes Lino García said in a statement. "Nación ESPN will feature unique technical elements that will allow fans to interact and be part of the show through ground-breaking interaction via social media while helping shape the show's top stories."
