Only in Philly

The Sixers were pretty much down for the count midway through the third quarter. Their body language said it all: Game Over.

Sitting up in the nosebleed seats with a pair of binoculars (with all the media at the Finals, they had the nerve to ship me upstairs), there had to be something better to watch. I quickly spotted Warren Sapp decked out in a light blue Jordan sweatshirt and shorts. He got love from BShaw at halftime. Or at least pretended like he did.

Next I spot Peyton Manning, who got love from exactly no one when they showed his picture on the JumboTron. C'mon, the Eagles and Colts aren't even in the same conference.

It was good to see Philadelphia native and The Sixth Sense director M. Night Shyamalan in the place. But I think he thought he was at church. The dude sat perfectly still the entire time, then neatly folded the Iverson jersey he brought with him to the size of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich after the game. Strange.

During a timeout late in the third, there were a couple of good fights in the crowd. First, two girls got into it and got ejected. That led to more beer tossing and more people getting ejected. Guess about eight in all. This is Philly, you know.

Better check and see what Ann Iverson's doing. Her "That's My Boy" banner was folded up and tucked away under her seat. No need for it tonight. So she basically passed the time by keeping an eye on Deuce Iverson, A.I.'s son. He was the only Sixer who didn't get tired. All night he ran up and down the walkway behind the baseline, dribbling a miniature blue-and-red Sixers ball. When he's 3, shorty's handle is gonna be sick. Of the 7,087 Iverson jerseys in the house (I swear I counted), Ann had the best one. Hers was a custom made camouflage model with Iverson and 3 on the back. Much props, mom.

But the best A.I. prop of the night goes to Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child, who performed at halftime. To go with her Iverson halter top and super short skirt, Kelly wore a diamond-studded compression sleeve on her left arm. Unfortunately the group's dancers wore Kobe Bryant jerseys, so The Child was nearly booed off the court.

Hey, this is Philly.
