ESPN (US)

The Give and Go ad is a premium ad unit which pairs a unique 9:16 video experience with an interactive carousel of videos. It is built in-house by ESPN and developed specifically for mobile web.

  • When the ad is 20% in view, the muted 6 second video animation will begin.
  • Clicking on the auto-play video will take users to the video carousel, where they can play up to five different videos. A minimum of three videos is recommended.

Video
  • Auto-play video must use a 9:16 aspect ratio. Creative submitted in alternate dimensions will need to be reformatted by the client/advertiser.
  • Auto-play video is limited to 6 seconds in length. Each carousel video may be up to 120 seconds in length.
  • Carousel videos must be 16:9 aspect ratio.
  • Each carousel video must not exceed 10MB.
  • The video clip and end card will feature an overlay logo/CTA graphic. Video should be free of text or logos that may affect viewability of the CTA portion of the creative.
  • Carousel videos play inline on Android.
Animation/Ad Behavior
  • The unit auto-plays when more than 20% of creative appears on screen.
  • Auto-play video is limited to 6 seconds and will loop 3 times.
  • Clicking on the auto-play video takes the user to the Carousel Video page.
  • The Carousel Video may include links to Twitter or Facebook - please include hashtag text if Twitter links are provided.
  • The endcard is a static panel which cannot animate.
Capping
No capping for this unit.
Third-Party Tag
Must be first-party served by ESPN. Third-party impression and click tracking is allowed.
Submission Deadline
Please allow five business days for testing and approval.
Restrictions
The Give and Go will be visible to users with a screen resolution less than or equal to 767px wide.
HTTPS Compatibility
  • All creative, including third-party tracking tags, must use secure protocol (HTTPS).
  • Any creative that is not fully secure will be sent back for revisions.
Additional Info
  • Advertisement and "Tap for more videos" text will be added to the top and bottom of the creative.

This ad must be created in-house by ESPN and will be built to ESPN's HTML5 requirements.
