Hairston charged with one felony, one misdemeanor

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Southern Illinois guard Stetson Hairston
has been suspended indefinitely by coach Chris Lowery after being
charged with felony trespassing and mob action and misdemeanor

Michael Dale was also suspended Monday for the first three games
of next season after being charged with the same crimes.

Police said Hairston and Dale were involved in a fight with two
other men at an apartment complex near campus in July.

"I've determined both players clearly violated our team conduct
policy and warranted punishment," Lowery said. "We'll continue to
wait and see what happens in the court of law."

Hairston was the team's third-leading scorer last season,
averaging 9.4 points and 4.3 rebounds for the Salukis. Dale has
never played a game for the team.

Southern Illinois finished the season 25-5, losing to Alabama in
the first round of the NCAA tournament.
