Baylor 74, Iowa St. 67
WACO, Texas (AP) -- Henry Dugat and Kevin Rogers scored 15 points each and Baylor used a 22-2 second-half run to beat Iowa State 74-67 in the Big 12 opener for both teams Saturday night.
The Bears (13-2, 1-0 Big 12) trailed 44-37 when they scored 12 straight points for a 49-44 lead with 12:33 remaining. Aaron Bruce had seven of his 14 points during the run.
After Jiri Hubalek made two free throws for the Cyclones (10-6, 0-1), Rogers scored four of Baylor's next 10 points for a 59-46 lead with 10:03 remaining.
Craig Brackins scored a career-high 33 for Iowa State, and Wesley Johnson added 11.
The game was back-and-forth throughout.
The Cyclones broke a 27-27 tie with an 11-3 run that gave them a 38-29 lead with 55 seconds left in the first half. Brackins had two 3-pointers and a three-point play during the run.
Curtis Jerrells, who had 12 points, hit a layup with 3.5 seconds left in the half to pull Baylor within seven at 38-31.
