Rhode Island 82, Dayton 70

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) -- Joe Mbang scored 21 points and had eight rebounds while Jimmy Baron finished with 20 points as Rhode Island beat Dayton 82-70 on Saturday.

Mbang had 13 points in a span of 4:09 as the Rams (19-3, 5-2 Atlantic 10) took control with a 20-7 run in the second half. Mbang capped his streak by knocking down a 3-pointer with 12:15 left to play that gave the Rams a 56-38 lead.

Dayton (15-5, 3-4), which lost for the fourth time in five games, shot 2-of-13 from 3-point range. Brian Roberts, who led the Flyers with 17 points, connected on the team's first 3-point field goal with 8:11 to play.

Rhode Island hit 11-of-26 from beyond the arc with Mbang and Baron leading the Rams with four 3-pointers each. Parfait Bitee's 3 in the final seconds of the first half sent Rhode Island into halftime with a 36-27 lead.

The Flyers' London Warren finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds, both career highs.

Bitee finished with 15 points, while Kahiem Seawright and Lamonte Ulmer each had 11 for the Rams, who shot 52 percent from the field.
