NEW YORK -- Paris Horne scored nine of his 19 points in St. John's game-breaking 18-2 run and the Red Storm beat South Florida 65-48 on Sunday.
The win moved the Red Storm (12-9, 3-6) into a tie for 10th place in the 16-team Big East with Notre Dame and No. 25 Georgetown.
Dominique Jones had 16 points for the Bulls (7-14, 2-7), who have lost five of six.
Justin Leemon hit one of South Florida's eight 3-pointers to give the Bulls a 40-38 lead with 12:53 to play. They then went 7:48 without scoring and 8:52 without a field goal.
Rob Thomas tied the game with a rebound basket with 12:18 left and South Florida managed two field goals the rest of the way, both coming after the Red Storm had taken a 56-42 lead on a breakaway layup by Horne with 2:55 left.
