BOULDER, Colo. -- Alec Burks had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Colorado snapped a four-game skid with a 95-69 victory over Iowa State in front of a sparse crowd on a frigid Tuesday night.
Four teammates also scored in double figures, including Cory Higgins with 16, as the Buffaloes (15-8, 4-4 Big 12) dominated the Cyclones in virtually every category. More importantly, they finally put away an opponent with a strong second half.
After blowing a 14-point halftime lead in a loss at Baylor on Saturday, the Buffaloes built a 49-34 lead over the Cyclones (14-9, 1-7). Colorado quickly doubled its lead as Levi Knutson's 3-pointer made it 78-48 with 12 minutes left.
The Cyclones, led by Scott Christopherson's 24 points, lost their fifth straight.
