HOUSTON -- Brandon Goodwin scored his team's final 13 points -- including a 3-pointer from the top of the key as time was winding down in overtime -- lifting Central Florida to a comeback 79-78 win over Houston Tuesday night.

Goodwin finished with a career-high 30 points including nearly identical pullup 3-pointers at the end of regulation to force overtime and for the winner.

The Knights (8-6, 1-2 American Athletic) held a seemingly comfortable 42-30 lead at the half but Houston (7-7, 0-3) scored the next 21 points and seemed to have the game in hand.

UCF closed to 69-68 on a Goodwin jumper inside the final minute. Devonta Pollard (13 points) converted a three-point play for a 72-68 lead with 22 seconds left.

Goodwin was not finished -- racing coast-to-coast for scores after Pollard's free throw, one by L.J. Rose (15 points) and two by Jherrod Stiggers (20-points), the latter forcing overtime.

Five minutes later came his final dagger.
