DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Jack Gibbs scored a career-high 43 points and Davidson beat Massachusetts 86-74 on Saturday.
Gibbs was 12 of 26 from the field, including four 3-pointers, and made 15 of 16 free throws while adding eight assists. Gibbs, coming in ranked fourth in the nation at 24.4 points per game, has reached 40 points three times this season and 30 six times.
UMass led 69-67 with four minutes left after a Clark 3-pointer. But Gibbs made a 3-pointer and added 11 free throws in a game-ending 19-5 run.
