Ryan Boatright's status is day to day

UConn guard Ryan Boatright was diagnosed with a sprained left ankle following X-rays that showed no structural damage.

Boatright injured the ankle while fighting to get through a screen in the final seconds of the Huskies' 55-54 loss to Texas on Sunday. Longhorns forward Jonathan Holmes buried a 3-pointer for the win.

The initial diagnosis was that Boatright suffered a sprained ankle, and X-rays confirmed it, according to the school. Boatright, who leads the Huskies (3-2) in scoring at 20.8 points per game, spent most of Tuesday in a boot and remains day to day. His status remains questionable for Friday's game against Yale.

UConn also said Rodney Purvis (9.3 ppg), who sat out against Texas due to a high left ankle sprain, did light shooting Tuesday but did not practice. He also is questionable, along with Omar Calhoun (sprained knee), for the game against Yale. Calhoun has yet to play this season.
