The tournament that was so surprising and unpredictable for the first 66 games went more or less according to expectations in the most important game of all. UConn defeated San Diego State by 17, as Dan Hurley and the Huskies claimed a remarkable fifth men's national title since 1999.
Adama Sanogo has claimed Most Outstanding Player honors, and deservedly so. The junior was a standout at both ends of the floor throughout the Huskies' six-game run. Then again Sanogo had help in the title game from Tristen Newton, who recorded a 19-10 double-double to go along with four assists.
The 2022-23 season comes to a close with UConn winning six tournament games by an average of 20 points. That qualifies as one of the most dominant runs through the bracket we've seen since the field expanded in 1985.
Here's how the final game of the season unfolded.
