Sources: Danny Manning to Tulsa

Kansas assistant coach Danny Manning has agreed to become the next head coach at Tulsa, sources close to the situation told ESPN's Neil Everett.

Manning, 45, has been an assistant at Kansas since March 2007 and is in his ninth season as part of the Jayhawks staff.

He's also Kansas' all-time leading scorer and rebounder, with 2,951 points and 1,187 boards from 1984-88. He spent 15 seasons in the NBA, averaging 14 points per game.

The Jayhawks play Ohio State on Saturday in the Final Four. Kansas is also losing Barry Hinson, the director of men's basketball operations, who took the head coaching job at Southern Illinois.

Tulsa fired Doug Wojcik on March 11 after a 17-14 season. Wojcik never took Tulsa to the NCAA tournament despite having six consecutive winning seasons.
