Anthony Davis wins Wooden Award

Kentucky Wildcats freshman Anthony Davis was named winner of the Wooden Award Saturday as the nation's top player.

He is the second freshman to win; Kevin Durant won it with Texas in 2007.

Davis, who also was named The Associated Press Player of the Year Friday, is the first Kentucky player to receive the award, which is voted on by national college basketball media members.

Davis received 3,350 points. Kansas' Thomas Robinson was second with 3,017. The rest of the top five: Draymond Green of Michigan State (2,825); Ohio State's Jared Sullinger (2,425); and Tyler Zeller of North Carolina (1,793).

The five are part of the Wooden All-American team. The rest: Isaiah Canaan, Murray State; Jae Crowder, Marquette; Marcus Denmon, Missouri; Kevin Jones, West Virginia; and Doug McDermott, Creighton.
