Lorenzo Brown has knee surgery

North Carolina State guard Lorenzo Brown had a torn meniscus in his right knee repaired Tuesday and is expected to miss two to four weeks of summer workouts, the school announced.

"My understanding is that surgery went well," coach Mark Gottfried said in a statement. "The injury was limited to the meniscus. This is temporary setback for Lorenzo. We will be conservative with what we do with Lorenzo moving forward."

Brown remains questionable for the team's August exhibition tour of Spain, the school said.

Brown enters his junior season as one of the key players for the resurgent Wolfpack after helping them reach the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament in March.

He averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists in his first full season at point guard while leading the Atlantic Coast Conference with 1.8 steals per game.
