Sources: Joseph Young visits Ducks

Houston transfer Joseph Young is currently on a visit to Oregon and is scheduled to take a trip to Arizona in the next week, sources told ESPN.com.

The 6-foot-3 Young averaged 18 points per game for James Dickey and the Cougars this past season and shot 42 percent from beyond the arc. Young's father, Michael, a member of the school's famed Phi Slama Jama team, recently refused a reassignment within the Houston athletic department. He had been the director of operations on Dickey's staff.

Joseph Young has one season of eligibility remaining, and sources told ESPN.com that the family will likely request a waiver from the NCAA for him to play this season. Although, the sources said, it's more likely he'll have to sit out next season.

The addition of Young would obviously be a huge boost for both schools, although Oregon is considered the frontrunner, sources said. Arizona is in need of a long-range shooter after Grant Jerrett left early for the NBA, while the Ducks could use another quality wing to go along with talented freshman Damyean Dotson.
