The Packers worked out former first-round pick Joshua Garnett, a source said. The 28th overall pick in the 2016 draft by the 49ers was released at the end of the preseason. All of 11 his career starts at guard came in his rookie season. He's battled knee injuries ever since.

OL Adam Pankey, released by the Packers yesterday, was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins, per a source. Pankey was cut after the Packers activated T Jared Veldheer.

Brewers fans concerned about the composition of their team's 2020 starting rotation may have to be patient. General manager David Stearns said today, "Frankly, at this point right now we don't think too much about that. We try to get through the progression of the off-season and as we get closer to spring training, we worry exactly what our starting rotation will look like, at that point. We've got a bunch of pitchers returning who have starting experience."

T Jared Veldheer, who came out of retirement two weeks ago, was added to the Packers' active roster, a source told ESPN's Field Yates. They had a roster exemption for Veldheer after claiming him off waivers. Backup G/T Adam Pankey was waived to make room.

Matt LaFleur wouldn't have any talk about winning out equaling a first-round playoff bye. "You know what I'm going to say, right?" LaFleur said with a smile. And then several in the room said in unison: "Got to go 1-0 this week." LaFleur has taught the local media well and with the Bears coming up next he said: "We better have our mind right."

On the way to rushing for 174 yards, the Packers averaged 4.5 yards per rush BEFORE contact on Sunday, their second-best total of the season according to ESPN Stats & Information. Aaron Jones, who had 134 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, averaged 6.1 yards per rush BEFORE contact on Sunday, the second-highest of his career. That's good work by the offensive line.
