Corey Linsley, who plays in the trenches as the Packers center, said he doesn't anticipate wearing a face shield to cover his facemask but ... "If that's something our trainers come to us (and say it could reduce COVID transmission), then for sure that's something I would consider," Linsley said. "But I haven't heard anything like that."

Last time Corey Linsley was in a contract year, the Packers signed him to extension the last week of the regular season – Dec. 30, 2017 – the day after Davante Adams signed an extension. Now, the veteran center is one of five starters in a contract year, along with must re-signs David Bakhtiari and Kenny Clark plus Aaron Jones and Kevin King. "I have no idea what's going to happen," he said. "Just playing out the year."

Big Ten to start Sept. 3; Michigan-OSU on Oct. 24

The Big Ten football schedule has two bye weeks built in for each team, with the regular season ending Nov. 21 and the conference title game on Dec. 5. There is ample flexibility to account for games that need to be rescheduled.

Without the ability to stay in the dorms at St. Norbert College, Packers coach Matt LaFleur is allowing veterans to stay at home, while rookies are all staying in a local hotel for the duration of training camp. Also, LaFleur said the Packers are currently at 80 on the roster -- since COVID-19 reserve players don't count — so instead of splitting up, they were able to work all together on Tuesday at Lambeau Field.
